Thank you, mom. I have become the person that I am today because of the amount of love that you gave me growing up. You helped to shape me. You have helped me to become the best person I could ever be.

Even as I walk down the aisle into the arms of the person that I am going to spend the rest of my life with, Know that the bond between the two of us isn’t going to break. Nothing can break the love that the two of us share, and I know that even in my married life, I still have plenty of lessons that I can still learn from you.

Thank you for everything.

Mom.

You really are the most amazing mother in the world. Growing up, I saw the amount of love that you shared with dad. I learned so many lessons from that. Even from my early years, I knew exactly the type of love that I needed when I finally walked down the aisle. I hope that I am able to have as loving a relationship as the one that my two parents shared. I genuinely believe I can. I know how to make it work. You have guided me every single step of the way.

I am grateful that you are my mom. The love that you have given me over the years is going to provide me with the strength that I need to walk down the aisle today. That love is going to give me the strength that I need to tackle the next step in my love.
It is your love and kindness that are allowing me to thrive as a person. It is your love and kindness that lets me know that I can do everything that I ever set my mind to. Thank you.

Mom. I know that it is me that is walking down the aisle today, but I want you to know that this day isn’t just my day. This day is also your day. This is because I wouldn’t be half the woman I would be if I didn’t have you in my life. The love that I am able to show to my (husband/wife) is only possible because of the affection that you showed me when I was growing up.

I appreciate everything that you do for me, and I appreciate every moment that you will continue to be in my life. Through thick and thin, I know that you are going to be there for me, and know that I am always going to be there for you too.

Mom, I am about to take the biggest step of my life. I won’t deny it. I am absolutely terrified of walking down that aisle. However, it is the love that I have for my new husband/wife that I know will get me through. However, that strength didn’t come out of nowhere.

Mom. I want to take the time to remind you that you are one of the strongest people I have ever known in my life. Know that as I walk down that aisle, completely terrified, I am only able to manage it because you have shown me just how strong a woman can be. You are giving me the strength to take the biggest step in my life, and I love you for it.

Mom. I love you. I really do. I know I say it a lot, but I feel that today you will appreciate it a whole lot more. In a few hours, I am going to walk down the aisle to marry the love of my life. I am absolutely thrilled about it. You may get the feeling that me committing myself to this person means that I won’t have the time to love you as much as I did.

However, I want you to know that this isn’t the case. In fact, I am probably going to end up loving you a lot more. This is because I know that it is the love that you have shown me that has allowed me to reach this stage of my life. You have shown me that I am capable of loving, and I am capable of being loved. Thank you, for everything.

I remember when I was younger. You used to pick me up whenever I felt down. You were my shoulder to cry on. The person that I turned to whenever I needed advice. The person who I could depend on. Even though I am now getting married, this isn’t going to change. There is nobody that I will ever love more than I love you, mom.

Please know that. I am telling you this now because I want you to know that every single time I cried on your shoulder and you perked me up again, I inched closer to this moment. I became a much stronger woman. One who I knew was deserving of love, and today I am going to commit myself to that love. I am glad that you are going to be along to enjoy this ride with me. There is nobody I would rather have by my side.

When I was younger, every night you used to read me the most beautiful stories. My favorite stories had princesses in them. I am sure you can probably remember me prancing around the house, pretending I was a princess. The countless birthday parties where I demanded to wear that beautiful pink dress. You have tons of photos of it!

Today, I feel like I am becoming the princess that I always dreamed I could be. I am getting love from my prince, and I love it. You made me believe that fairytales can come true and, believe me when I have children of my own, I am going to be reading them the exact same stories that you read me. I hope they get as much strength from me as the strength I gained from you. You are my everything, mom.

A lot of people tell me that I am the most optimistic person in the world. They tell me that I am a romantic. One that always cares about those that surround me. It is true, I do. There is little that can fail to bring a smile to my face, and there is nothing I wouldn’t do to ensure that the people that surround me every single day have a smile too.

I am going to ensure that the whole of my married life is going to be filled with smiles, even during the toughest of days. I don’t find this to be a compliment toward me, though. Oh no. You see, mom. The whole reason why I have this confidence and this love for everything in this world is because of you. You have taught me to be optimistic even when the days are dark and dreary.

You taught me to care for everybody that comes into my life, no matter who they are. It is the qualities that you have given me that provide me with the tools that I need going into this marriage. I am happy today, and my husband is happy today because you have taught me to be me. I can’t think of anything better that a mother could have provided.

I write this letter today as the happiest person on the planet. Very soon, I am going to be heading on the most magical journey of my life. Marriage is the most magical journey anybody can take in their life. However, before you set out on a romantic journey, you should always be equipped with everything that you need for success. You have given me exactly what I need.

You, mom, have taught me how to love and care. You have taught me how to cherish life’s small moments. The lessons that you provided me with growing up, and the lessons that you have taught me in my adulthood, are going to stick with me for the rest of my life. These lessons will help me to make my marriage a success.

I know that I still have much to learn from you, and I know that you are going to be by my side every step of the way. I love you, mom. I know that my husband/wife loves you too.

Mom, there is so much that I wish I could thank you for and I could probably be here forever writing this. However, as you know, I need to free up a bit of time to get married. So, I just want to take this time to thank you for everything that you have done for me. Every moment has been appreciated. Not just the moments where you held and kissed me.

Not just the moments when you told me that you loved me. I appreciate that you have given me the strength to believe in myself. I appreciate how you have taught me to believe in love. I appreciate how you have strived every moment of your life to give me the best that I can get. Today, I am walking down the aisle with the most amazing and wonderful person on the planet. The only reason I am here today is because of you.

Growing up, I knew that I had the best mother in the world. My friends even told me that. I know that I didn’t always give you the easiest time, but I appreciate that no matter how tough things got between us, you were always there to show me love. You were there to show me that love wasn’t conditional. Love was something that could never be lost, even in the darkest of times.

I may be grown up now, but I still need the lessons that my mother has taught me, and the lessons that she has still yet to teach more. I know that when I walk down the aisle today, I am going to be showing my new man the same amount of love that you showed me. I don’t believe I could love somebody as deeply as I do now without all of those lessons that you taught me.

Mom, the big day is finally here. The moment that you have probably been waiting for your entire life, and one that you have been constantly talking about to me. Sometimes, it seems that you were far more excited than I was! I am sure that you are going to look absolutely stunning in the outfit that you have chosen today. Actually, I know you are.

I know you, mom. I know that as you watch your beautiful daughter walk down the aisle, you are going to be crying and, you know what? It is alright to cry. I want you to know that I am about to embark on the happiest journey of my life, and it is you that has helped me to get here. Cry away. I will too.

14

Mom, you are my protector. I know you think that my walking down the aisle today means that I no longer need you. I do. I need my mommy. You are my parent. You are the first person that I ever loved, and one of the people that I will love forever no matter what. There are still things that I need to learn from you, and I can’t wait to learn them.

Today, I am going to be using your life lessons. You have taught me to be strong, and I will do as I walk down that aisle. You have taught me to love, and I will do it with my new husband/wife. You have taught me how to care, and this is something that I am going to show everybody for the rest of my life. Thank you, mom.
