Let’s check out some of my favorite cards, mugs, and T-shirts, plus tips on how to use them to announce your engagement!
Engagement Announcement Cards
I love engagement announcement cards for letting far-away friends and family in on the secret. I feel like not enough people send physical cards anymore, so when they do arrive in the mail they really stand out. Engagement announcement cards top my list because they expose your relationship personality while letting your favorite people know about your forthcoming wedding.
What I love most about engagement announcement cards is that they don’t have to include specific details of an event, for instance, the wedding date. Instead, it’s a subtle way of informing your loved ones about the exciting news. You can also include a cute photo and imply that you will reveal more details soon.
You can also think of these as pre-invitation cards and send them to family, friends, co-workers and neighbors that you plan on inviting to your wedding.
Here are a few of my favorite engagement announcement cards:
1. Save the Date Cards for 2 Brides
Save the date cards are sent to those you plan on inviting to your wedding.
- This set of 50 cards features an image of 2 brides kissing on the front of the cards and on the backs.
- It also has plenty of space for you to pen in all the details of your wedding.
2. Personalized Engagement Announcement from Shutterfly
If you’re having a hard time finding a pre-made design that you love, make your own over at Shutterfly! All of their cards are super easy to personalize with your names, party date, and so on. The one above is a customized version of Enchanting Engagement.
Using Mugs to Announce Your Engagement
A funny and affordable way to flaunt your new milestone, nothing could go wrong with announcing lesbian engagement with coffee mugs. You can take it further by personalizing engagement mugs with a future last name or the engagement date.
To make your cup stand out, include an eye-catching graphic engagement ring to mark your feat. Engagement mugs are a beloved keepsake long after the congratulatory message from friends and family stops buzzing.
You can use coffee mugs a couple of different ways when it comes to announcing your engagement.
- To announce to your co-workers, set the coffee mug on your desk so everyone can see when they walk by.
- To announce to family, friends and neighbors, use the mug to serve coffee when someone comes over for lunch, dinner or just to hang out.
- Either way, sit back and watch realization dawn on their faces when they get it!
I love these mugs:
3. EnGAYged Coffee Mug
This coffee mug features the text- ENGAYGED, in rainbow colors and an image of an engagement ring. The mug is printed on both sides, making it ideal for both righties and lefties.
4. She Put a Ring On It Coffee Mug
This dishwasher-safe/microwave-safe mug has the text- She Put A Ring On It, along with an image of a pink heart.
You can also do something clever, like these brides-to-be below, and serve coffee in your mug alongside these donuts that spell out “We’re Engaged!”
FYI, this works with other types of food, too, in case you don’t have a doughnut place that does custom orders. Spell it out in cookies, doughnut holes, or even jelly beans!
Fun Props to Announce Your Engagement
There is nothing adorable like bringing in creativity to spruce up your lesbian engagement announcement. Fun props like balloon sets and flowers can still feel special and romantic. Also, props don’t necessarily have to put your face in the spotlight.
So, if you prefer not to share the exciting news on social media, you can invite your loved ones to a prop-themed party disguised as something else and share the engagement there. Party décor such as personalized balloons with wordings announcing your milestone, or bringing out a cake embroidered with unique styles such as ‘she said yes!’ ‘we are so engaged!
Below are three fabulous props that you can use together or alone to create a memorable engagement announcement. Need some ideas? Try these:
- For the banner and balloon set, consider having a dinner party and inviting some of the people that you’re going to invite to your wedding.
- And of course, a party needs decorations, right? For the cake topper, bake a cake for your dinner party, put the cake topper on top and see how long it takes for your guests to start asking question.
- Finally, for the photo props, take photos of the both of you, using the props, and then post them to your Facebook page.

6. Mrs. & Mrs. Cake Topper
This acrylic cake topper is perfect for any 6” cake. It features a lesbian couple silhouette under a tree, with the test- Mrs. & Mrs.
7. Mrs. & Mrs. Photo Props Kit

You can also make your own photo props. Something simple and sweet stands out just as much as a store-bought prop!
I love this one above because it’s elegant and beautiful, with the brides to be taking center attention!
4. Announce Your New with T-Shirts
Engagement t-shirts showcase your love for each other while informing the world of your engagement. Not to mention, they are a new and stylish way to dress up with your partner. Also, T-shirts eliminate the need for lengthy explanations.
Instead, it’s a vivid explanation to everyone that you are taking your relationship further. What I love most about couple t-shirts is that you can tailor them to every unique event, and just like mugs, they are beloved keepsakes.
There are a couple of ways to use t-shirts to announce your engagement.
- If you are headed to your best friend’s house for a cocktail party or to your mom’s house for her birthday party, definitely wear one of the t-shirts.
- Or you could wear one of the t-shirts to work on casual Friday, making it easy to let all your co-workers know that you’re engaged.

Things to Remember Before, During and After Lesbian Engagement Announcements
Now that you are aware of the most amazing lesbian engagement announcements & ideas, there are a few things you should know before taking your relationship further. First, this is a new beginning with your partner.
Therefore, soak in every second with her before revealing the exciting news to your loved ones. Savour the moment with your spouse before telling your friends and family. Also, before sharing the news with the whole world via social platforms, it’s best first to inform a few people.
For starters, begin with your immediate family members (parents & siblings), then the extended folks and your closest friends. Only then should you post on social platforms. You can post your #just engaged photos on Facebook and Instagram and animate the announcement with clips of engagement rings, a picture of your first kiss etc.
However, don’t overshare; instead, be selective with the following information you post. For example, don’t disclose your wedding details yet to avoid hurting the uninvited followers. Once the engagement excitement settles in, don’t forget to send official engagement announcements to those close to you. This is a great way to prepare them for formal wedding invites.
With all the excitement surrounding your milestone, don’t get carried away and forget sharing etiquette.
With these ideas for lesbian engagement announcements, the hardest part is deciding which to use! If you can’t pick, feel free to mix things up! Use a mug at work, a t-shirt to tell your friends, and so on.
