Just days ahead of the start of Pride Month, Nike unveiled their new 2020 BeTrue Pride Collection.
The range of colorful sneakers and sandals is part of Nike’s Until We All Win campaign.
Nike isn’t the only- or even the first- shoe brand to release Pride Month products. However, they are among the top contributors to LGBTQ awareness causes.
According to a Nike press release, Nike believes that all athletes deserve equality.
We know that Until We All Win, we won’t prevail. Together, we are stronger. That’s why, as part of our Pride Month celebration this year, we’re recommending $500,000 (through grants of $25,000 each, administered by the Charities Aid Foundation of America) to 20 organizations that are advocating for and advancing the LGBTQIA+ community.
Sneak Peek at the Nike and Converse BeTrue Collection
The new collection features “timeless silhouettes and color applications” that reflect “the same power of the spectrum in the LGBTQIA+ and allied community, the inspirations behind the designs span time periods and settings.”
The AirMax BeTrue (above), for example, is inspired by the energy of parade marches throughout history.
For those planning to hit the beach, the Air Deshutz (below) brings “functional simplicity to a fun, versatile sandal.”
