Ellen Shares Rare Wedding Photo Along with Very Sad News

On Thursday, Ellen shared an impressive wedding photo, but with a very sad message. She announced the death of her beloved dog, Wolf.

The picture was posted with the caption: “Last night we had to say goodbye to our dog, Wolf. He brought us so much love and joy. I hope we did the same for him.”

In the picture, we can see Ellen with her wife, Portia de Rossi, and their two dogs.

The ladies got married back in 2008, soon after same-sex marriage was legalized in California. Their ceremony was very small, with only 19 guests and they served delicious vegan dishes in their living room. Even though they initially planned something bigger, Portia said that the wedding would have “just got to be too big and stressful.”

Some time later, they uncovered the fact that their first dance was to “Ribbon in the Sky” by Stevie Wonder.

In 2018, when looking back on their wedding day, she said.

This was such a special day for us.

Her dearest friend, Courteney Cox, said “So hard. πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”,” and her producer, Andy Lassner said “I loved Wolf so much. You guys were such great mamas to him. πŸ’””

Even though most of the responses were very nice, there were also the ones lacking any form of empathy.

Happily, many people came over to encourage the couple with amazing messages, especially their fans.

Sorry for your loss. I know how much you love your precious babies. Love to you both.

And someone else wrote.

Awww I’m so sorry. He was lucky to have you ❀️

Our hearts break for Ellen and Portia’s loss, and we extend our own deepest sympathies.
